It's time to feel heard, understood, and accepted.
Maybe you’re feeling unseen and unheard, that nobody listens to you or gets you, and you have no idea how to manage all the things you are thinking, feeling and experiencing.
I work with adults and teens who feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or confused.
My name is Bonnie, Certified Counsellor and Family Therapist Calgary. I'm a Canadian (of Irish, Scottish, and French origins) and live on Treaty 7 land in Airdrie.
I offer online therapy specializing in helping adults, teens and parents to better understand and express themselves.
Counselling can be intimidating.
I offer a compassionate, kind, and open space without judgment or expectation where you can let down your walls, be vulnerable, and share your story.
I am in awe of the strength and resilience people show, and want to provide a space where you can lay down the heavy stuff. I am here to support you through your journey and lessen the load.
I specialize in helping neurodiverse, gender diverse, transgender, BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ teens and adults to find their strengths, connect, and thrive.
I am committed to providing safe, affirming care that is tailored to your unique individuality. I will work with you to develop a trusting, genuine therapeutic relationship which is the cornerstone of positive outcomes.
You will be empowered to break free from fear and hesitation to embrace the many parts of your self.
I practice from a strength-based relational approach. We are both experts in different ways. You are the expert of your story and your voice, vision, experiences, and perspectives will guide our way. You are strong, capable, and courageous, and you don't have to navigate this journey on your own.
My expertise is in building knowledge, understanding, tools, resources, and support - I will be right there beside you, supporting you in the direction you want to go.
I can help you make sense of your thoughts, emotions and sensations and find your true self.
It is possible to get to a place where you feel clear, connected and comfortable being who you are. You can have good friends, good relationships, and positive experiences at home and school.

If you feel that we may be a good fit, I offer a free 15 minute consultation, or you can book your first session online. *Accepting new clients*
A NOTE TO PARENTS:
Parenting a teenager is a challenging journey! There are a lot of skills you have as a parent. Getting help doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. Our kids are growing up in a different time with unique challenges we didn’t face. They might be impacted by covid, isolation, technology, social media, or dysphoria. If your child is having mental health concerns, seeing a therapist can help, just like seeing a doctor for an injury.
Maybe your teen doesn’t talk to you like they used to. I know it’s hard. It is your teenager's job to lean away from you as they build independence and autonomy. If you are looking for a therapist for your teenager, you can both be involved at each step of the process. You can let your teen read a few profiles and see who they feel they will connect with best. Finding their ideal support might allow them to feel more secure in the therapeutic relationship from the beginning. If the first therapist is not a good fit, they can try again!
Your child will be in good hands. I have experience as a single mother of four teenagers, and soon to be step-mother of a teen and pre-teen. I have traveled the bumps and barriers of parenthood, having children with exceptional needs, managing complicated family dynamics, navigating the education system both as a parent and professional staff member, and working with diverse youth. While my life experiences may influence who I am, I respect that each individual has their own unique path and story. I will collaborate with you and your teen to create a plan moving forward.
