Maybe you aren't living this life the way you hope to.
Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, hopeless or confused?
You want to get out of the past, out of your head, or not get so caught up in your thoughts or emotions.
You want to stop the:
beating yourself up
shoving things down
tension and pain
You don't know exactly what's going on, or at least why you can't change it.
You’re here because you want a better life.
Life can be complicated and messy.
Everyone struggles with issues, new or old, big or small.
Adults have to deal with relationships, family, work, money, sex, grief, change, values, health, and illness.
Maybe you're also dealing with anger, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, or trauma on top of the complications of every day life in general.
And it can be hard to talk about this stuff.
What we see and feel is wrong in our lives is often only one part of the picture. There's a lot happening behind the scenes.
You’re in the right place – if individual therapy has helped you before, if it didn’t work last time, or even if it’s your first time trying.
Going to counselling doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. Things don't have to be awful before you go.
A therapist can help you figure out what's going on and how to move forward.
Individual counselling can help you feel clear and connected.
You can be calm and confident.
When you understand the processes behind why you do what you do, you have more control and power.
You can find new meaning and purpose.
You look forward to reconnecting with what makes you happiest.
You can engage in healthy ways at home, school, work and in relationships.
It is possible to find your way closer to the life you want to live.
What if you could...
laugh more often
enjoy each day
be more curious
feel at peace
Our individual therapy centers around compassionate care with empathy and non-judgment.
We can help you identify and heal patterns, pains, and unmet needs in yourself and your relationships.
We all have things we want or need to change about ourself and how we relate to others.
Therapy is good for everyone.
A counselor can help you:
understand your experiences
accept and regulate emotions
stay in the present moment
express your thoughts and feelings
be comfortable in your own body

Is counselling confidential?
What happens in therapy stays in therapy! We care deeply and go to great lengths to protect your privacy. Your counsellor is bound by strict confidentiality laws to keep your information private unless they have to share information in some cases of immediate risk or legal obligation.
How do I know if I need therapy?
Just being curious about therapy is a good enough reason to go! You don't need to be in crisis or have trauma to start counselling. Therapy is one way to improve your mental health, relationships, mood, and happiness in life. Therapy is for everyone.
Will I have homework in counselling?
Whether you attend weekly or biweekly, the time you spend in therapy weekly will likely give you something to reflect on or practice between sessions. If you would like specific homework, you can ask your therapist for tasks to engage in during the week.
Does insurance cover counselling?
Most private and employment insurers cover counselling and therapy under health or paramedical services. You can check with your insurance provider to find out how much coverage you have or read about insurance coverage in Alberta.
Do I have to see an individual therapist near me?
With online therapy, you are able to connect with counsellors across Calgary and Alberta so you have more choice in finding the best therapist for you, based on your needs and preferences. You can choose from psychologists or therapists who live across the province and find the best fit for you.
